Overview

Image Reaper is a Chrome extension that allows users to find and download images from web pages they visit. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is (and is not) collected.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Image Reaper does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:

Personal information (name, email, location, etc.)
Browsing history or visited URLs
Images or files downloaded by the user
Any analytics, telemetry, or usage data
Cookies or tracking identifiers

How the Extension Works

When you activate Image Reaper on a page, it scans the current tab's DOM for image elements (<img> tags, CSS background images, Base64 images, etc.) entirely within your browser. This processing happens locally on your device and no data is sent to any external server.

Permissions Explained

activeTab / scripting / <all_urls> — Required to scan images on any page the user chooses to use the extension on. The extension only runs when explicitly invoked by the user.
downloads — Required to save images to the user's local device.
storage — Used solely to remember the user's UI preferences (e.g. view mode) locally in the browser.
sidePanel / tabs — Required to display the side panel interface and detect tab changes.

Third-Party Services

Image Reaper does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.

The extension includes an optional link to Ko-fi for voluntary developer support. Clicking this link opens Ko-fi's website in a new tab. Ko-fi's own privacy policy applies to any interaction on their site.

Children's Privacy

Image Reaper does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
